Lovina – Bali's Tranquil Northern Coast

Bali’s Peaceful Northern Escape

🚗 Getting There

Lovina is approximately 90 KM from Denpasar airport in Bali Indonesia. The journey typically takes around four hours drive, including a stop over for lunch. On the upside there is plenty to see on the way. However it’s a long drive after a four hour flight from Perth.

🚙 Our Trip

Lovina is approximately 90 KM from Denpasar airport in Bali Indonesia. The old man picked Lovina as the destination for our hotel. The problem in Bali is that the roads are so bad that 90KM travel is hovering around four hours drive, that’s including a stop over for lunch. On the upside there is plenty to see on the way. However its a long drive after a four hour flight from Perth.

So the moral of this story do not let OJ pick a hotel. We only stayed in Lovina for a few days and then headed back to the main tourist areas in Bali. Having said all that it was still a nice place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily live. As punishment I made OJ wear funny hippy pants.

The villa we stayed in had its own private pool and we hired a scooter from the hotel to get around the area.

⛏️ Brief History

Bali is a province of Indonesia and the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Located east of Java and west of Lombok, the province includes the island of Bali and a few smaller neighbouring islands, notably Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan. The provincial capital, Denpasar, is the most populous city in the Lesser Sunda Islands.

Bali is the only Hindu-majority province in Indonesia, with 83.5% of the population adhering to Balinese Hinduism. Bali is Indonesia’s main tourist destination, with tourism making up 80% of its economy.

🏛️ Things to See
